What is gastric Balloon?

An intragastric balloon is a soft silicone balloon placed in the stomach, usually by endoscopy, and filled with fluid. It takes up space in the stomach, creating a feeling of fullness and helping you eat less. It stays for 6–12 months depending on the type and must be combined with a diet and exercise programme to keep the weight off.
