What is dimple Creation Surgery (Dimpleplasty)?
Dimpleplasty surgically creates a dimple in a cheek that does not naturally have one. Through a cut of a few millimetres on the inside of the cheek, a small piece of tissue is removed and the underside of the cheek skin is tied to the cheek muscle with a dissolving or permanent stitch. When the muscle contracts, that is when you smile, the skin is pulled inwards. No scar is left on the outside. In the first weeks the dimple may also be visible at rest; over time it becomes more noticeable mainly when you smile. How deep and how lasting the result is varies from person to person.

- Examination and marking the dimple position while smiling
- Cleaning the inside of the mouth with an antiseptic solution and local anaesthesia
- A small cut inside the cheek and, if needed, removal of a little tissue
