What is arm Lift (Brachioplasty)?
An arm lift (brachioplasty) removes sagging skin and excess fat from the inner and back surface of the upper arm, most often after major weight loss or with ageing. When sagging is marked, the incision runs along the inner arm from the armpit towards the elbow; for mild laxity close to the armpit, a shorter incision may be enough. Excess fat is often reduced with liposuction in the same operation. The arm looks slimmer and firmer, but in exchange there is a permanent scar on the inner arm that can be seen. The trade-off between the scar and the sagging should therefore be discussed openly before surgery.
