What is ozone Therapy?
Ozone therapy is giving the body a mixture of oxygen and ozone, produced from medical oxygen with special devices, by specific routes. It is used as an injection into the area for herniated discs, knee osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal pain, and in some cases by taking some of the blood, mixing it with ozone and returning it (major autohaemotherapy). In Turkey it is one of the Ministry of Health’s traditional and complementary medicine practices and may only be done by certified doctors in licensed centres. There are studies showing it may reduce pain in herniated discs and knee osteoarthritis; however, evidence is limited for many uses. Inhaling ozone gas is harmful to the lungs, so it must only be given with suitable devices and techniques.

- Treatment under sterile conditions and brief observation
